Precision engineering company Acro has announced that it is now able to produce bespoke heatsinks for electronic and electrical systems using its computer-aided 3D machining technology.

Using SolidCAM technology to drive a vertical machining centre, Acro have been able to produce highly complex heatsinks for use in military RF electronic systems. Using aerospace grade materials the heatsinks are machined using data direct from their client´s computer-aided-design software.

"These heatsinks are very intricate designs that have to be machined to very high tolerances," said Fred Pain, General Manager at Acro. "Once again we are very pleased with our investment in the 3D machining capability. It would be very difficult and costly to undertake this project using tradition...
