Embedded Masterclass 2009 To Discuss The Increasing Use of Commercial Database Technologies in Embedded Systems.

Birdstep Technlogy, a leader in embedded databases, have agreed to present at this year's Embedded Masterclass, to be held in Cambridge and Bristol on the 7th and 12th of May. Their presentation will introduce engineers to the concept of using commercial data management software within electronic devices and real-time computing systems.

"Whether it's an air traffic control system, a SATNAV, a medical scanner or a mobile phone; today's electronic systems often have to handle massive amounts of data," said Luca Pagni, Sales Manager EMEA for Birdstep. "Often the bigger issues can be such aspects as the speed of retrieval of the d...

BVM has added the LV-67D to its extensive family of mini-ITX form factor motherboards for embedded applications. The LV-67D uses the Intel 945GSE chipset and incorporates the 45nm Intel Atom N270 processor. The chip´s power consumption is particularly low at 2.5W, and with extensive I/O capability, the board is ideal for embedded applications such as digital signage, kiosks, point of sale terminals, thin clients, digital security, residential gateways and commercial and industrial control equipment where ultimate computing power is less important than power conservation. The onboard Intel GMA 950 32-bit 3D graphics engine offers LVDS, DVI, CRT or HDTV capability and multiple graphics displays.

The N270 runs at 1.6GHz with a 533MHz FSB addressing up to 2GB of RAM. The LV-67D ...
