ARM9 microcontrollers are finding their way into an ever-increasing number of development projects. In order to meet the demand for suitable development tools, Hitex has adapted its proven Tanto-ARM for use with these controller families. Thanks to HiTOP, the innovative and sophisticated IDE / user interface, Tanto provides maximum benefit when used in embedded development projects to be completed as rapidly and efficiently as possible. Proficient debugging, fast download rates and rapid programming of both internal and external flash memory are included, together with the support of numerous derivatives with a diverse range of peripherals. Cache memory is also correctly handled in various modes. All popular compilers and real-time operating systems are supported.

The system can be expanded with a universal trace module to record information from the Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM). As with the Tanto Base module, a simple and inexpensive software update enables the trace expansion to be used with other 16- and 32-bit controllers such as TriCore and PowerPC. In combination with the software testing tool Tessy, Tanto-ARM can perform automatic testing in real-time on the actual target system.
